Quality assurance

Nothing leaves this plant on an assumption

Chemistry, mechanical properties, dimensions and surface are all verified — and the results ship with the material, tied to the heat it came from.

The approach

Control during production, verify before dispatch

A final inspection can reject a bad bar. It cannot make a good one. So the controls that decide quality are the ones running during production — scale fully removed before drawing, die condition monitored, lubrication maintained, straightening treated as a controlled operation.

Final inspection then confirms what those controls produced: diameter across the tolerance band, straightness, surface condition and cut length, checked against the ordered specification rather than a general standard.

The last step is documentation. Every consignment ships with a Kalika test certificate carrying the heat number, alongside the original mill certificate for that heat — so your incoming inspection has certified chemistry rather than an assumed grade.

Our quality philosophy

Checkpoints

Where quality is checked in the process

  • 01

    Raw Material

    About this step
    • Heat number recorded against the consignment
    • Mill test certificate verified against ordered grade
    • Weighbridge slip reconciled with declared weight
    • Visual inspection for surface defects and scale condition
  • 02

    Shot Blasting

    About this step
    • Complete scale removal verified across the full bar length
    • Surface uniformity checked before release to drawing
    • Shot condition and blast media monitored
  • 03

    Cold Drawing

    About this step
    • Drawn diameter verified against the specified tolerance band
    • Surface finish inspected along the drawn length
    • Die condition monitored and change recorded
    • Line, shift, operator, die and date logged against heat number
  • 04

    Straightening & Cutting

    About this step
    • Straightness verified against specification
    • Cut length consistency checked across the batch
    • End condition inspected — square, burr-free
  • 05

    Inspection & Bundling

    About this step
    • Diameter verified against the ordered tolerance band
    • Straightness and surface condition confirmed
    • Bundle weight recorded on the in-house scale
    • QR tag applied and linked to heat number in ERP
