Technical information

The chemical compositions, mechanical properties, size ranges, tolerances, heat treatment guidance, machinability indices and equivalent designations published on this site are given as per the applicable standards and are indicative.

They are published to help you specify material. They are not a warranty of the properties of any particular consignment. The certified values for material supplied to you are those stated in the Mill Test Certificate and the test certificate issued with that consignment, and those documents prevail over anything on this website.

Equivalent designations under other standards are the nearest comparable grades. Equivalent does not mean identical, and a specific standard requirement should always be confirmed with us before ordering.

Grade recommendations produced by the grade selector, the applications pages or any other tool on this site are general guidance based on a small number of inputs. They do not take account of your section size, loading, fatigue requirement, heat treatment process or design factors, and they are not a design review or an engineering opinion. Final responsibility for material selection rests with you or your design authority.

Calculators and tools

The weight calculator, tolerance lookup and comparison tools are provided for estimating and reference. Calculated weights use nominal dimensions and a standard steel density, and will differ from actual weighed quantity. Invoicing is on weighbridge weight, not calculated weight.

We take care that these tools are correct but do not guarantee that they are free of error. Check anything critical before relying on it commercially.

Availability, quotations and orders

This website does not publish live stock. Availability shown or described anywhere on the public site is indicative and is confirmed only in writing by us against a specific enquiry.

An enquiry submitted through this site is a request for information, not an order. No contract arises until we issue a quotation and you accept it, or we confirm your order in writing.

Orders placed through the customer portal create a sale order in our system for our team to review. They are subject to confirmation of schedule, availability and commercial terms.

Rates, lead times and terms are as agreed with you and are not published on this site.

Customer portal

Portal accounts are issued by us to existing customers. You may not share your login, and you are responsible for activity carried out under it. Tell us immediately if you believe it has been compromised.

Information in the portal is drawn live from our records. If anything does not agree with your own books, contact us and we will reconcile it. Where there is a discrepancy, our signed documents — challans, invoices and certificates — govern.

We may suspend or withdraw portal access where an account is inactive, where terms are breached, or for security reasons.

Case studies and results

Case studies describe outcomes reported by customers for their own process and product. Customer names are withheld at their request and industry descriptions are used instead.

Results described are not a prediction or guarantee of the outcome on your parts, which depend on your design, machining and heat treatment.

Intellectual property

The content, layout, text and design of this website belong to Kalika Enterprises. You may read, print and share pages for your own business use — the datasheets and reference charts are published precisely so that you can.

You may not republish our content as your own, or use our name, logo or material in a way that suggests an association or endorsement that does not exist.

Limitation of liability

This website is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on information published on this site. Our liability in respect of material supplied is governed by the terms of the relevant contract of sale.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from the use of this website.
